I have been to the RHDR twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Smile

It's a great place, very enjoyable indeed and most recommended. Whether I spend the day riding or even stop by for 10 minutes to phot somethng go past, I always enjoy it there. It's a line I would love to volunteer at too.

I have also made a video (just over 7 minutes long) from my Bank Holiday Monday visit to the RH&DR which can be found at the link below. The video features trains passing each other at speed, loco number 2 departing tender first, loco number 4 running light engine to New Romney (no. 4 rarely gets used) and various other steam and diesel clips.

I went over into Kent today to see 20310/311 on 6M95 Dungeness - Willesden. I saw this working at Snargate Crossing, situated on the Dungeness Branch. I also saw the RH&DR's no. 5 Hercules and no. 8 Hurricane passing me between Romney Sands and Dungeness.

Video of 20310/11 today. Also features 20315/306 a couple of weeks ago

Another update from me. Today I went to Headcorn, Kent for a couple of hours to phot 47501 working a Stoneblower drag to Ashford Works and 67006 working a 442 drag to Ashford Chart Leacon. I got to Headcorn just in time as when I stepped foot on the platform I could see the 47 coming. With no decent gen on the 67 + 442 I had a while to wait. I had to make a rough guess at what time it would pass, based on a sighting of it at Staines earlier on in the afternoon. It passed Headcorn the same time as when the DRS 47 was returning back to London, luckily not in the station otherwise it would've mucked up my plans to phot the 67 + 442 and video the 47. Anyway, links to photos and video of 47501 can be found below

Yesterday I went over to Faversham in Kent to see 34067 Tangmere and 37712 on Shepherd Neame's Hop Picker's Special, The Spitfire. One or two of these Hop Picker's Specials run to Faversham each year for the annual Hop Festival. I was lucky enough to buy a ticket to ride on the afternoon shuttle train from Faversham to Ramsgate and return despite people and words on the Shepherd Neame's website saying the shuttle was sold out. I also saw a couple of engineers trains headed by EWS 66s which passed through Faversham.

Tangmere was a bit slippery, as befits the light pacifics. Wink Good to watch, but not a good thing for a steam loco. The tractor was a bit claggy - lovely! Cool

I took an afternoon trip upto London today to see Sarah Siddons + 20189 on the Met, New Gat-Ex liveried 73202 and 37609/611 on a SERCO Test Train. I saw all of these, but because only managed to phot Sarah + 20 and 73202. The SERCO ran late from Hither Green and after I had given up on it at Wandsworth Road the sodding thing passed me whlst I was on a 456! Also saw 442404, which passed Balham a minute after 73202 did.

Saw 20310/311 today working the weekly 6M95 Dungeness-Willesden flask train at Appledore, Kent. Only 20310 was powering because 20311 failed at Dungeness earlier in the day. If 20310 had failed, the train would most likely have run with 20311 facing nose first which is quite a rare sight on the mainline.

Updated my site with a couple of photos of 31190/454 working 4Q10 Selhurst T&RSMD-Derby RTC SERCO at Hastings last night. The weather was atrocious, which made getting photos of the 31s very difficult, especially 31454, as you had to go out in the rain to get a shot of it. Typically, the rain was gentle when I went on the station, so I didn't take an umbrella, but as soon as the 31s arrived, it poured hard and never stopped until they had gone.

Nice weather I see! Very Happy

On a side note was browsing through your other shots of SS at Harrow. What on earth have they done to the 4TC?
