I'm trying to locate one of these GEM Caledonian Railways Cardean Class kits, but I'm having troubble doing so. I think this kit may be out of production as it is not listed on the company's website and I've had no replay from a e-mail I sent about the kit. The only refrences I can find of it are in the March 07 edition of Railway Modeller and this fotopic site.

I'm not even sure where to look, are there retailers that specialise in this sort of thing? Please help!

There is a directory of dealers, manufacturers etc.
They also have a classified wanted section.

Thanks for that link. I've contacted several dealers and will post a topic on the classified wanted section when my registration application has been accepted.

Let us know how you get on. I have solved a couple of problems through this website and feel it is useful, It would be interesting to have other feedback. How did you get on with the freightliner bogies by the way:?: I and other members of this forum can also learn from what you do so please keep us all informed.

Well, I finally got a reply from GEM (after nearly 5 weaks!), saying that it is out of production but that it will be introduced back in to the range "sometime in the future, hopefully not too long" and that I should try eBay or "toy or model fairs" for a second hand one. I saw one on eBay just last week but as usual with the site the price rocketed at the last minuite (£58 to £103 in about 5 min), but that was with an old triang motor and in LMS livery not CR blue. I've put a post on the ukmodelshops.co.uk site, so just need to wait and see if anyone can help.
With the frieghtliner bogies I decided to try the intercity models ones. I only got round to ordering them last week and I'll post on the other topic when I've had a go a building them.

Just a quick update. No progress yet on finding the kit. Looks like I might just need to wait until GEM rerelease it. Sad

Finally, I managed to get one of these kits! It came of ebay already built but needing quite a bit of work to complete. I've put Hornby's current B12 chassis under it but due to the weight of the body and tender it struggles a bit every time it gets to a corner! Heres a pic.
