Whilst taking a long exposure of a Class 57 at Crewe, I happened upon this chance movement. The loco was about to couple to a Pendolino in connection with engineering work and I started the shot at the right time. I was staying in the hotel visible in the top right, 'The Crewe Arms' on a training course for signing the Class 350 units as traction.

The traction was a mere distraction as I saw this overnight shoot and a chance to walk the now demised Crewe Diesel depot the real purpose of the trip.

Sometimes you press the shutter at just the right moment and sometimes you don't. You got this one spot on.

Very depressing sight of so many wonderful locos rusting away.
