I'm told I can inflict pictures of my Modelmaking projects on you. Currently I'm building there are two Micro Layouts with a third planned. The logic behind this is that if (when) a project stalled, there is always another one, and they can all be packaged up and stored away.

This project will be a 7mm scale, 16.5mm gauge model based on the question: What would a narrow gauge line look like in Germany if the technology had continued to develop? It takes prototype ideas from a number of real European (and other) lines and merges tham all into one place, a Fictional valley in the Black Forest. I've not got very far, but here's what there is:

Currently the only loco, known as "Growler 1" and in need of railings and a driver, and a better secured roof. It's ma first project in 16 years and it shows. Somewhere under there is a Bachmann Plymouth chassis.

The first high capacity van, also in need of railings... One of the problems og this scale is clear from the picture, namely the piddly little bogies...

One of two really basic wood wagons

An 'Improved' version of the wood wagon, still incomplete, but looking better than its predecessors

Possible future project if they can be persuaded to work. Let's say 2008 may well be the year of the Krokodil...

Thing is, we hit a problem in that the proposed model was too exposed for a house full of small boys, so a small version was called for, which I'm working on now. I'll post that some other time...

Very interesting idea. Not the usual fictional place on a real railway but a totally fictional railway. I do like the idea.

Nobody can tell you that you have made a mistake anyway.

Thanks for the kind comments. I'm making slow progress. Here's the results of the latest bout of activity:

The wagons in the background are for an 09 project. I've just finished a mess van from card as well:

I was trying out livery variations with the Gimp, and I noticed some people here referred to a "shed on wheels", so I had to try one...

Thanks for the kind comments- I didn't know what response the 'Shed' would get...

Not much more progress to report, just painted wagons so far. I'm working on a layout for the 09 stock though.

Only buffers, crossbeams and uprights to go on the wood wagon.

The model will hopefully look like a narrow gauge version of this when completed:

I wouldn't mind the loco either...

The wagon looks like it has had some heavy handling! Very Happy

Yeah, the loco is cool. Cool
