Heres a shot of the southern approach to Rugby taken from Clifton Road. This is how the remodelling looked back in May 2007:

And in August 2007:

Excellent, keep them coming. Such heavy engineering, and hardly a passenger knows!

Looks like the plan is coming together nicely - but in the 4th picture I thought they were switching to broad gauge track. Rolling Eyes Mr. Green

I`ve never seen anything like that before........... Why would track be laid down like this????? For some kind of testing purpose perhaps??

To be honest, I have no idea!

Here`s another shot from April which makes for an interesting comparison.

I wish I made time to take this shot myself before the changes became too severe!!!

What is the purpose of this remodelling? All I know of it is that they are supposed to be removing the massive drop from 125mph to 50mph on the fast lines for non-stop trains.

Is the track layout set to change drastically? If so, why?

Do we have any diagrams of the current layout and what it should look like afterwards?

And is this why there are replacements buses on between Birmingham and Rugby for seemingly endless periods of time?
