having purchased a Bachmann class 20 with on board sound about a week ago i've been totally hooked on DCC operation ever since.
And now with a ESU sound decoder for a Bachmann 37 installed in my model of 37408 its bringing back the memories of the north wales coast.
Only one problem though i have only got the Bachmann EZ control system and i find this so hard to operate is there anything easier on the market??

I bought an NCE PowerCab - extremely easy to use. I asked around before buying and this was the one which was overwhelmingly recommended.

I so far have an SWD sound unit in my 37, with two speakers, and cannot wait to get decoders in my other locos. Smile

I have lenz LZV100 with LH100 Handset and LI101 Computer Interface.
Part of the decision to buy this set was because I am a member of a club we needed some standard and as other members had lenz equipment It seemed a prudent choice. The thing about buying a dcc set is to buy the very best you can afford as it is a long term investment. Remember that dcc is still developing. You need to sit back and work out what you are considering doing with dcc. What you require now and may require in the future. It is definitely not an impulse buy.
Try out as many different sets as you can. There are various forums for dcc, If you go on some of these you may blag an invite or two to get a shot of someone elses equipment. If you go to Model shows then ask operators questions.

I made many enquiries at model railway shows, and got to try out a few systems. Wink

My layout is small, so I did not need a big system, although it is expandable into a multi-cab format.

HELP !!!

does anybody know how i can get an ESU chip for a class 37 reset as after trying my 37 out the other day all the functions are in the wrong order and the only way to solve the problem would be a factory reset ? it was working ok about 2 months ago.

but the big problem is that i bought the chip on ebay so i cant exactly send it someplace like southwest digital ?

Yes you can send it to SWD and they will reprogram it at a cost of course.
However if all the sound files are intact and it is only the cvs that are corrupt then you can reset the cvs yourself.

Who programed the chip in the first place Question
If it was swd then contact them by email and they will give you a list of all cvs with settings, I have had to do this myself and they are very good in providing the information you require. If it was not SWD then they will now reprogram it for you.

Check out
