Nice pictures andersley. Get all the signal boxes while you can because they are disappearing fast. _________________ D6841

My thoughts precisely. We have been lucky to have plenty left in Lincolnshire. _________________ Alan Curtis

Lovely things
I'm surprised so many of the old crossing gates survive.
What is the box in the first of your 1960's pics, I can't make out the name. |

When the Midland Suburban Bed-Pan lines were electrified, they built attractive, red brick relay rooms with slate roofs.
I've noticed similar structures in yellow brick between Burton & birmingham over the last week.
I suppose the portacabin style ones are cheaper, but they do nothing for the visual enviroment. |
