These are soon to disappear in a revamp of trackage and signalling in Lincoln. Signal boxes will also go. Sad

Are the signal boxes to be 're-homed' into the preservation scene perhaps?

Hope so. The High Street box looks good, but a couple of others are looking decidedly tatty!

From what I understand, Lincoln is going to be done in 2 big possesions

First one will be this summer when the layout is altered to make reversing and other movements easier. The second will be next summer when Lincoln is resignalled and the final touches to the layout are put in place.

Yeah, not looking forward to the possessions. Most of my train rides start by going through Lincoln. At least I will still be able to 'escape' via Sleaford and Grantham. Mr. Green

Will these possessions affect freight traffic through Lincoln? The Doncaster - Immingham line is a little busy without adding extra oil and coal trains surely? I'd be surprised if that line could take it all.

I think they are looking at total possessions, several weeks at a time. Sad

Could be interesting to be at Doncaster then as all the Immingham bound stuff will have to come up the ECML and through Doncaster onto the Scunthorpe line.

Andersley would be the person to ask - I rarely go anywhere near Lincoln despite living so close to it Wink

Can't remember the dates, but IIRC some work will be done this year, with the completion next year, so you should have time to see them. Smile
