A difficult decision but because the winner is going to appear on a calander in August I went for CraigS photo of 67006 arrives at Folkestone Harbour.
A nice summery/holiday photograph thumbs up!

For me it came down to either of the Ribblehead shots.

In view of it being for a calender, I plumped in the end for the Oliver Cromwell shot, but I was sorely tempted by the shot looking up at the arches.

As ever, very good photos this month, people. Smile

The photo of 59005 wins it for me. I just like the livery, and the composition of that shot.

Oh, the growler shot entitled 'Kings Sutton' isn`t actually at Kings Sutton!

Looks like Kidderminster, perhaps?

Laughing

This is, as always, a tough one. What I'm personally looking for is a photo that sums up August 2008 in a nutshell. So I will possibly the only one not voting for a sunny photo. Indeed, I usually aim to voting for a photo that screams out what time of the year it was and something that particularly makes it known (if that makes sense). Traction is not a factor for me on this one. My final factor is the angle of the shot, something perhaps a bit different to station shots, something different overall.

Am I fussy? Yes. Does that help in this case? No.

So far, I've narrowed it down to Csalem's entries, Dave's shot of 66430 at Carlisle, Mumrar's shot of 33207+025, IKB081's shot of the Duchess, as well as his shot of the 57 on the mail and Jason's shot of 86101.

To choose from 6 photos is not easy! I shall return tomorrow with a vote.

My apologies for mis-labeling this but I did take the title from the text provided. I hope it doesn't affect the outcome.

Whilst I know that my third entry comes from my recent foray at Kings Sutton, the dilemma has been whether to go for a shot in good light, or the good train. Result of indecision below

I've eliminated Dave's shot of 66430, Csalem's shot 0f 09017, IKB081's shot of the 57 on the mail and Jason's shot of 86101 from my choices. Not because they're not good enough but I'm having to make tough choices.

Two choices left, the 33s from Mumrar or 170519 at the drenched Newport from Csalem. This isn't going to be easy, as I was on the tour with the 33s (not all of it but enough of it to claim I was there) but I like the shot of 170519 because it shows exactly how wet the month was.

Hmm... Gone fishing! yoda rain close inspection baking a cake

Back later with my vote I be!

I've agreed with Intermodalman here, the shot of 170519 gets my vote.

Congratulations to all who entered, as always a mighty fine round of entries which made it difficult to vote anyone's photo off.

Wow, the tie-breaker for August will itself have 3 entries at the moment! The tension is almost too much to bear. Almost. Wink

I see Jason's doing well with 3 votes at the moment.

Going to be interesting to see what makes the tie-break!
