Yes, the weather was very nice. It always rains when a 31 hauled test train visits Hastings Laughing

The 4TC has been made to look like old wooden coaches, maybe an attempt to create Sarah Siddons' early days when it would all such coaches. I'm not quite sure how they made it to look like that, whether it was paint or somewhat of decal/vinyl/whatever. I have a feeling the latter was used.

I agree, would've been better if they had just left the 4TC in maroon.

Because it was raining so much I didn't have time to experiment with various camera modes or get as many shots as I had hoped too. For the shot 31454 I had to run out in the rain, point, shoot and hope for the best. I think I did do okay considering the weather conditions, cheers Smile

Your right craig sometimes full auto, point and shoot is best.
It's results that count. Cool

Reminds me of a day I was standing on Greenhill bridge waiting on a special. conditions were changing by the second. several of the assembled gallery were discussing f stops, exposure times etc. I said I going full auto. I got the photos some of the mates didn't. sometimes it just down to luck dunno

I went to the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway near Hollingbourne in Kent yesterday, which is a 2ft gauge, half mile long railway situated in someone's grounds. The line is open to the public on the first Sunday of every month between April and October. Three locomotives were in use during my visit and my photos/video from yesterday can be found at th links below.

someone has been busy...... I was looking back at some of your earlier shots and I remember the last time I saw "MAX JOULE" in February sitting at Kilmarnock station waiting for the road.....I was standing alongside another photter on the platform and just happened to say something like "I hope the driver gives it what for when he leaves".... He replied "I'll try my best". Yes he was the driver photographing his own train Laughing

Laughing

On the subject of 20301 Max Joule, I've been wanting a front shot of it for some time because when I do see it, it usually has another 20 in front of it.

Another update! Today I saw 20315/307 on a line they rarely use while hauling a Stoneblower from Trent Siding to Ashford. I sa the 20s at Harrietsham and Lenham on the Maidstone East line. Also saw 92001 on an empty steel working. I have added a photo to my site of 66719 propelling Gypsum Wagons into the exchange sidings at Mountfield (taken yesterday).
